reports exclusively that the over three decade communal clashes between Isu
village and its neighbours Ezele, Ogwugwu and Okuzu leading to the killing of
two Ezele sons
recently when Ezele village attacked Isu village in Oba,
Idemmili South local government area of Anambra state has been resolved.
Out-gone President General of Isu Welfare Association, Dr
Victor Madunagu Chiwuzie, an Engineer disclosed this in his address while
conducting an election for new Isu Welfare Association (IWA) at Isu Primary School,
Oba.
He said all boundary problems have been resolved and
commended the heroic disposition of those arrested, detained , beaten and
suffered humiliation for the Isu land crisis without any meaningful compensation
, but added that a committee should be set up by incoming government to look at
compensating them.
Dr Chiwuzie announced that their land at Ube Mkpuluaku to
Ekulo unjustly revoked by the state government sequel to pressure from traders
at Alaba International market has been recovered while the seizure of Isu-Oba
International Market (Alaba) by Anambra state government did not work due to genuine
presentations by the Isu Welfare Association hence the government is resolving
to ensure ‘’we shall be entitled to all the benefits agreed upon on leasing the
land to the traders including royalty to Isu government annually.
He informed also that Isu Welfare Association has acquired 10
plots of land for a hall of fame project in Isu and another 5 plots for a youth
center within their communal land which the Architectural design has been
produced. The projects when completed would be yielding at least N1,000,000 (One
Million naira ) for the Isu Welfare Association every month.
He sued for brotherly love and peace at all times to enable
the community move forward insisting that the new executive must be supported by
all to be able to achieve.
He said his administration was able to attract a connecting
road from the old road to the new road that has made it possible for the 9
villages which Isu is the biggest.
The community at the event elected new executives led by Pastor
Ifeanyi Nkemdilim with Sam Nwanegbo and Iunice Nwosah as first and second vie
president respectively.
In his post election speech, new President General of Isu
Welfare Association , Oba ,Pastor Ifeanyi Nkemdilim assured to uplift the community from where the out gone
President , Engr Dr Sir Victor Madunagu Chiwuzie left it even as he commended
Chiwuzie for doing his best for the community in the past 15 years he presided
over affairs of the community.
