reports that a group under the aegis of Aggrieved
Councilors Forum, ACF, has
cautioned the Governor of Anambra state, Chief Willie Obiano against his
alleged continued moves to scuttle the mandate given to the Senator elect for
Anambra Central senatorial zone, Mrs. Uche Ekwunife.
The Director
General of Aggrieved Councilors Forum, Chief Chuks Anaje warned the governor that further actions
aimed at thwarting the mandate the people of Anambra central senatorial zone
massively and overwhelmingly gave to Ekwunife on the 28th March
National Assembly election could be taken seriously by the group.
He said the group is made up of all the aggrieved
councilors who participated in the last local government and councillorship
election in the state on the platform of the All Progressives Grand Alliance,
APGA and were shortchanged by the leadership of the party, adding that they
have vowed to make sure that nobody will thwart the mandate given to Ekwunife.
Chief Anaje
further lamented that despite the money and other resources they wasted during
the last chairmanship and councillorship election, they were allegedly
defrauded by the leadership of the party and said their decision to support
Mrs. Ekwunife was in the interest of the people of the zone and Anambra state
in general.
‘It is on this note that we call on Governor Willie
Obianio to steer clear off the mandate given to Mrs. Ekwunife by the electorate
since he could not stop her from running for the position. As members of APGA
and stakeholders in Anambra project, we knew how the leadership of the party
under Chief Victor Umeh stopped Ekwunife from going back to the House of
Representatives and how God through His help elevated the woman to greater
position. We therefore warn against further efforts as being made by the state
government to thwart the mandate”
“Our call on the Governor is born out of love we have
for him but we shall transfer the hatred we have for Victor Umeh to him if he
refuses to remove his hand from the divine mandate God gave to Ekwunife through
the good people of Anambra central senatorial zone. He should also see himself
as somebody occupying a transitory position and if he refused to allow another
person enjoy her mandate, God will also thwart his own position”.
