As the gubernatorial and State Assembly election was rounding-up in most polling
units across Bauchi State, cases of snatching of ballot boxes were recorded after the announcement of results.
Similarly, hoodlums reportedly killed a serving councillor in Bogoro local government during Saturday’s election.
Nigerian Pilot Sunday gathered that the serving councillor representing Gizaki/Badagari ward in Bogor local government area, Mr. Musa Daniel was beaten to death by angry youths as revealed by the chairperson of the local government, Hassana Arkila on Saturday.
Meanwhile cases of ballot snatching was recorded in some parts of Bauchi State, as youths riding on motorcycles stormed some polling units and whisked away all electoral materials.
Such cases was said to have been recorded in GRA Bauchi Club polling unit, Shakal Primary School all in Bauchi local government area as well as Katagum and Darazo Local Government Areas respectively.
A voter, who spoke on condition of anonymity said that the thugs who attacked the Bauchi Club polling unit came on about 10 motorcycles, carrying dangerous weapons and caused destruction, forcing people to run for safety.
When contacted on the snatching of ballot boxes, the Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, DSP Haruna Muhammad, confirmed the incidence, saying they have arrested some people in connection with Saturday’s election but declined to make further comment, but said details will be provided after investigation.
