Rochas leads S/East caucus of APC to make case for SGF

The race for the Speakership of the House of Representatives took another dimension

on Thursday when the South-East caucus of the All Progressives Congress pushed for the position.

Also, making a strong demand for the office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, SGF, the zone also presented former governor of Abia State, Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu as its candidate for the office.

The group led by Imo State governor, Chief Rochas Okorocha met with the President-Elect, General Mohammadu Buhari at the Defence House where they made the demands.

Though the meeting was a congratulatory one to Buhari on his electoral victory, the caucus which solicited the support of Buhari on the Speakership also said that in the event where the zone failed to capture the number one seat in the House of Representatives, it should be considered for the Deputy Speaker of the House.

Advancing further their argument, the group said it has at least three elected members on APC’s platform.
