Konga.com releases a statement about "KONGA AIRTIME GIVEAWAY" scam

Konga.com has finally made an official statement notifying the public about a sham message going round social networks.

When I first saw this message, I knew it was a sham message, I quickly informed Konga.com and they made an official statement that the message being disseminated does not come from them. The senders of this message are using this medium to collect personal and sensitive details from unsuspecting users.



Come to think of it. I want you to help me answer these questions.

1. Why would Konga.com give away airtime just by entering your phone number or giving out a sensitive information or just by filling out a form.
2. Why would Konga.com giving out airtime for just referring users to another service not on Konga.com
3. Does Konga.com work for Google to generate additional traffic for Google
4. Why was the form not hosted on Konga.com official website. Hosting a form on a free form hosting service tells me three things - It is phishy! It is scam!! A sham indeed!!!
5. Why has the information not been stated on Konga.com official communication channels.

And so many questions that come my mind. We all need to be extremelly careful while giving out our personal details online. It can be used for very funny purposes.

Have a look at the official email sent to me from Konga.com. All those shopping on Konga.com must have received similar email too.
