Kano State Governor-elect, Dr
Abdullahi Ganduje, has inaugurated a 93-man Transition
Committee, charging the
members to focus attention, specifically on consolidating on the gains of what
has been conceived and implemented within the last four years.
Ganduje, who spoke in Kano during
the team’s inauguration on Thursday, reminded the committee members that
critical appraisals must be undertaken, so as to straighten what is on the
table, as well as proffer tangible recommendations for new grounds,
According to Ganduje, the challenge
before the committee might be regarded as a daunting task but expressed the
confidence that given the calibre and intellectual capacity of members of the
committee, they would surmount all odds to achieve remarkable success with the
short time frame.
He stressed that critical
consideration were made before appointing members of the committee,
adding that their track record of professional competence and hard work,
meritocracy, patriotic sense of duty was also considered before arriving at the
final selection of members of the committee.
Ganduje charged members of the
committee to bring their unique attributes to bear in the discharge of their
assignment, so as to ensure more progress and prosperity for the entire state.
The 93-man member committee, chaired
by the Deputy Governor-elect, Prof. Hafiz Abubakar, has among its terms of
reference the collection relevant liaison with MDAs as well as all ongoing
projects/programmes in relation to levels of execution/fiscal profile and
development reasonable matrix for completion within the 2015 fiscal year.
Others terms of reference include
the proposal of fresh programmes/projects, that are practicable and
sustainable, which must also reflect the various subjec areas of the
sub-committees assignment.
The rest are to write and submit a
final transition and handing over report within three weeks, as well as
to make any other appropriate recommendation as may be deemed appropriate.
