James Eze Attacks Barr Joe Martins Uzodike Again over his comments

I have received a lorry-load of feedback to my reply to my big brother, Joe Martins Uzodike’s attack on Governor Willie Obiano. The reactions are generally warm and encouraging. It would seem that many people are outraged that a former Commissioner for Information could turn around to address certain grave issues without circumspection, without acknowledging the sensibilities involved. But I digress.

Now, from the feedback that I received, a lot of party insiders are aggrieved at Uzodike’s audacity to bend history on one knee. Some people blamed him for not having enough guts to hand in his resignation when it became clear to him that he could not serve under governor Obiano.

They consider it as indicative of Uzodike’s utter lack of honour. Some others blamed him for being duplicitous; pretending to serve Obiano but working undercover to insubordinate him.

Yet there are some who think he went too far in his wild accusations. For instance, Uzodike’s claim that Obiano did not spend 1 Kobo on his own campaign has been described as a very cheap lie that a former Commissioner for Information should have known better than to tell.

In fact, Mr. Uzu Okagbue, Obiano’s Chief of Protocol who was employed to run his parallel Campaign Office due to the crass ineptitude of Uzodike’s own campaign structure felt piqued that anyone would insinuate that Obiano did not make any financial contribution to his own campaign and was surviving on the feeding money handed to him through Uzodike.

Dismissing Uzodike’s lies as extremely cruel, Okagbue said it was painful to contemplate because Uzodike was among many party leaders that Obiano referred to him and who subsequently got hefty sums of money directly from Obiano’s private campaign funds which Okagbue managed with clock-work efficiency all through the campaign period.

Uzu expressed disappointment with Joe Martins Uzodike for mustering the temerity to lie about things that were well-known to everyone who worked closely with the party leadership during the gubernatorial campaign.

Truly, it is perplexing why our big brother choose to tread this dishonorable path. But it is his choice and we must learn to respect a man’s choice.
