More goodwill and financial favour awaits the national teams and other sportsmen and
women as philanthropist and oil magnet, Chief Dr Ifeanyi Ubah has promised to continue rewarding more for those who distinguished themselves.
Speaking to journalists in Abuja at the weekend, the Vice Chairman of the Anambra State Football Association, also dismissed any form of crisis rocking the State FA, insisting that despite claim of in fighting, there was calm in the Exco.
The National Coordinator of the Transformation Ambassador of Nigeria (TAN) further stated that the new state FA board, which has chief Mike Umeh and himself as the chairman and vice chairman respectively was poised to take the game of soccer in the state to the next level.
While reacting to the failure of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) to recognize the newly elected Anambra FA exco, Ubah said: “There was an election in Anambra State FA and chief Mike Umeh is the chairman and I am his vice. There is no other motive behind our taking part in the administration of football in the state.
“It is all about football and also the youths of Anambra State and Nigeria. Let’s leave the rest of the story and enjoy the game. Anambra has not had it rosy in football in the past because we could not get that support from our past government. I am here to make a mark and prove that we can sustain a football club in the state.
“With my involvement in football administration in the state, I want to prove that the state can also comfortably run a football club that will return the football glory to the state.
“I have always been involved in the national teams, though I am not always visible in their events, my impact has always been felt as far as the national teams are involved.” Ubah noted.
Reacting to the motive of his taking over the former Gabros FC of Nnewi, he described it as a very big opportunity to provide job for the Nigerian youths, emphasizing that it had always been his desire to keep the youths busy in any form he could.
He promised that his new club had come to stay, noting that lovers of the game in the state would have the opportunity to watch top class football from Ifeanyi Ubah FC, assuring that the club would soon represent Nigeria in continental championships.
“It is part of our global concept of bringing opportunities to Nigerian youths. I strongly believe that the opportunity came when the management of former Gabros FC made offer for the club to be taken over. For me, it is part of our strategic plans and I am sure that the club has come to stay,” Ubah promised.
