reports that the deputy senate president, Senator Ike Ekweremadu may
emerge the
next senate president if Governor Rochas Okorocha, Chief Ogbonnaya Onu and
Senator Chris Ngige among other high ranking members of the APC in the
south-east convince him to dump PDP.
Senator Ekweremadu was at the Imo State government house
yesterday after attending a memorial service of Hon. Chidi Nworgu’s father in
Nkwerre.
He was with Okorocha and others allegedly for over 90-minutes
on the senate president’s issue as it would be zoned to the South East
Geo-Political Zone.
Ndigbo may lose the opportunity since no ranking APC member returned
to the senate, and based on that APC may be compelled to zone it to the North
Central.
APC has majority in the senate with no fewer than 65 seats and
PDP with no fewer than 44 seats.
The big question now is will Ekweremadu dump PDP for APC?
Ekweremadu decamps from PDP to APC over Senate President slot?
