Mr Sunday Ajayi, the sector Commander in the state made the call at a workshop held at TrigPoint hotel, Amawbia for operators of the hospitality and Tourism industry.
Ajayi said the choice to partner hoteliers was strategic as they play host to people from cross sections of the society including high personalities who were not easily accessed.
He also said that the command was deploying no fewer than 1,000,000 regular and special marshals for the special Easter operations, adding that they were targeting a zero death celebration in the state.
“This strategy of advocacy visits to hotel and tourism centres is in furtherance of our goal at achieving safe roads in Anambra, especially now that the Easter period is here.
“It is the first of its king and we know it will be very effective because of the calibre of people that patronise, we have given them poster and fliers to put in their rooms and places people can see them to continue to remind them that their lives are important to their families and us as well.
“For the Easter period, not less than 1,000 regular and special have been deployed across the state and our major units in our command, we shall be strict with regulations and offenders will be penalised”, he said.
In his remark, Chief Felix Ogbuefi, the proprietor of the TrigPoint pledged the corporation of their group adding that they were impressed with the FRSC in the state.
Ogbuefi advised Nigerians to celebrate with moderation, pointing out that drunk driving was an accident waiting to happen.
He urged the FRSC to produce a jingle on safety tips and share to the hoteliers to play as a reminder to their customers,” he said.
