Easter: Bishop Ibezim asks Politicians , leaders to sheath the sword and embrace peace

www.odogwublog.com reports that the Anglican Bishop of Awka Diocese, Right
Reverend Dr Alex Ibezim yesterday praised God that those proposing disintegration of Nigeria by 2015 has failed in their prediction as God took charge of affairs of Nigeria.

Ibezim in his 2015 Easter message shortly after a Easter Retreat of Knights in the diocese at St Mathew’s Aglican Church Nibo, Awka South local government area, said Nigeria’s unity is now unquestionable.

www.odogwublog.com quotes Bishop  Ibezim as saying: ‘’2015 Presidential election has come and gone and their prediction that Nigeria would disintegrate did not come to pass because God is in control of affairs of Nigeria.

He urged politicians and leaders to shun the toga of war and disunity by sheathing the sword and embrace peace and unity.

‘’ From Good Friday to Easter are unique moments in the history of Christianity and on Sunday , we will rise with Christ Jesus nailing the rumours of war to come in 2015 after Presidential elections.

‘’The spirit of Easter would bring us more peace in our country and Christians should stop segregation in the Church of Christ because we are one body in Christ Jesus. Christians should be born again and pursue peace with all men for a better Nigeria, we all would be proud of. We are all Children of God.

‘’we should pray for peace, love and unity of country and in all we do we emulate Jesus Christ so that Jesus Christ will bring peace in our homes and Country at large.

‘’Nigeria is no longer a sleeping giant but has set pace in the democracies of the world with President Jonathan conducting the most credible , free and fair election in which he even lost to the opposition and accepted defeat in good faith to avoid bloodshed. The election was a bloodless revolution so to speak against what was predicted for Nigeria.

The Awka Anglican Bishop insisted that there is no need for the confusion often noticed among Christians as the gap should be closed by Christian leaders emulating Christ Jesus and reuniting for the gospel to further pray for the country.

He said was it not that power belonged to God, a different situation would have been played out and the country would be thrown into crisis, unwarranted maiming and killing but now it was jubilation, commendation and sobriety .
