7.0COMPUTING SKILLS & ICT PROFICIENCY
______________________________________________________________________________

Computing skills
I am familiar with and have used IBM-compatible computers for word processing, graphics and statistical analysis. I have vast knowledge of Microsoft packages and conveniently uses them for word processing, spreadsheet, graphics and presentation protocols. I am conversant with WebCT (Web Course Tools - for online courses) and e-learning protocols. I also have a working knowledge ofcollege portal administration.

ICT Proficiency
I am very knowledgeable and versatile in ICT administration. That informed my appointment in January 2010 as the Pioneer Director of ICT at NnamdiAzikiwe University. As the Director I created and maintained a proactive and savvy ICT habitat on campus and worldwide visibility for the NnamdiAzikiwe University; I supervised and accomplished the following;
i .Re-deployment of  wireless fidelity (wi-fi) network in some designated areas on
              campus.
           ii. Implementation and deployment of an unlimited google-based web mail
               account with the university domain  name, [email protected]
          iii. Revision & redesigning of the university’s website to enhance its content and
manageability as well as its savviness and interactiveness for international
comparability and easy webometric ranking of the university.
           iv. Implementation of a new college portal.

Report card: The immediate result of my effort was an improvement in the University’s ranking by the 4icu group. The www.4icu.org October 2009 world ranking for NnamdiAzikiwe University was 8,692 (and 47 out of over 70 ranked institutions in Nigeria). This was before my appointment in January 2010. By dint of hard work, populating and enhancement of the university’s web content our global rating by the same body came up to 5,850 (and 18 out of 74 ranked institutions in Nigeria) by October, 2010.

I am in touch with and have transacted with key players in the Nigerian ICT sector including Microsoft Anglophone West Africa, Zinox Technologies, AfriHUB Nigeria, New Horizon, Computer Aid (United Kingdom), Electronic Test Centre (eTC)

I have also attended some formal training on ICT tools and ICT administration as listed.
