Breaking news: Tipper rams into Awgbu market killing 2, injuring many

www.odogwublog.com fan reports that two persons were feared dead following a road accident involving a tipper driver who lost control of the truck and rammed into shops
at Eke Awgbu  market in Orumba North local government area, Anambra state.

The truck with registration number Delta ASB 255 ZH, said to be carrying sand failed its brake on top speed and killed two persons said to be among those hawking mangoes and other fruits along the Awgbu –Umuawulu road  at about 8:30 yesterday morning, reports www.odogwublog.com fan.

An eye witness Sunny Okoye said after the driver lost control of the tipper on an effort to avoid a collision with a trailer off loading cement in one of the shops along the road

But Mr Cyril  Okeke-Igbo said the tipper destroyed over 10 generating sets , 500 Alumaco doors and windows parked in a shop as well as metal doors and other wielding equipment .

The People identified the two dead persons as Mrs Theresa Maduako , who was selling mangoes and an Okada rider , Mr Chinaza Okoye-Nta , both from Awgbu community.

Public Relations Officer , Anambra state Uche  Ezeh confirmed the incident saying injured were rushed to Amaku general hospital Awka  and other nearby hospitals .He said trailer drivers should be offloading at night when the road is less busy and they should drive with caution while approaching markets and busy areas.

Okey Enekwa , Chairman of the Orumba- North local government  and Hon Romanus Ugochukwu Obi Member Representing Orumba North in the Anambra state House of Assembly could not be reached as at press time.
