The Catholic Bishop of Awka Diocese, His Lordship
Most Rev. Paulinus Ezeokafor has called on African leaders to intervene in the
xenophobic attacks on non-indigenes in
south Africa.
Bishop Ezeokafor who stated this while addressing
newsmen at St Patrick's Catholic Cathedral, Awka urged Nigerian government to
take special interest in the unfortunate
development in making sure that Nigerians are protected in midst of the
racial impasse.
The Catholic Prelate, condemned in strong terms the
racial attacks even as he called for caution in the interest of Africa
Continent
'Many non indigenes have been slaughtered by
rampaging and ill- informed South Africa youths,' Bishop Ezeokafor said.
The man of God, enjoined African political and
religious leaders to fashion out ways on how to cushion the effect of the
dastardly act describing it as man's inhumanity to man.
