Be focused, Governor Willie Obiano charged

Mr. Chike Anyadubalu is a businessman, philanthropist and a politician. He hails from Iruogeli, Akpu village, Ukpo, Dunukofia Local Government Area of Anambra State. He is presently the Director of
Training and Research , Madiba International Resources, where they focus on training and building capacity in the educational sector. In this interview, he spoke on a number of issues, including the administration of Governor Willie Obiano of Anambra State. Excerpts.
Just concluded elections
You know, this is election time and having registered here in the state, I returned back and took part in the just concluded presidential election and State House of Assembly elections in the state. I want to use medium to thank the people of Anambra State for coming out massively and for voting for APGA in all the Local Government areas of the State in a peaceful and orderly manner. The INEC did a wonderful job and I must commend them also and to Nigerian Press for doing a wonderful job as regards to the election reporting both at the print media and the televisions.
How would you access the Governor Willie Obiano’s one year in office?
Just one year in office, Governor Obiano’s administration has been able to make meaningful impacts on the various critical sectors of the state’s economy. Most importantly, the abandonment of projects started by their predecessors by incoming governments, had stalled the progress of the state in the past, and Governor Obiano had in the past twelve months, flagged off many infrastructural projects as well as service schemes that have impacted positively on the lives of NdiAnambra.
The paramount achievement by the present state government in the past 11 months is security of lives and property especially in areas that had hitherto been looked at as terror zones and this has enabled smooth business transactions and the massive influx of investors which the state is at present witnessing, and such development holds the promise of greater wealth and more jobs for the Youths and increased revenue for government. He has transformed Upper Iweka and the great commercial city of Onitsha from being a den of robbers into one of Nigeria’s leading business-friendly cities. He has cleaned up Anambra and returned our dear state on the part of progress. He has kept faith with his campaign promise to continue, complete and commission all the projects he inherited from his predecessor. There is not one project that he inherited that he has abandoned. Agriculture, massive roads construction, provisions of transformers for an improvement in electricity generation is wonderful and really speaking in all ramifications Anambra State is working.
How have the people benefitted directly from the projects, including your people?
My Governor is a working chief servant of the state. He cannot do magic within one year in office, but he has done well and since he has not abandoned most of the projects started by his predecessor, I have the confidence that he will complete the road that leads from Oyeagu Junction to Ezioraja Round About Ukpo, Dunukofia, Anambra State.
Representation at National Assembly
I am not a politician but a businessman. But I cannot say that I am not interested in what is going on politically both at the national level and in my state. At present the PDP candidate is representing my Local Government Area at the State House of Assembly, but that have to change come May 29th when one of our son, an APGA candidate will be representing us. This development is what I believe in and I have the confidence that he will do well and also help to attract development to my area more now than before.
Advice to Governor Obiano…
My advice to my Governor, Chief Obiano is to remain focused and make sure that what he envisioned Anambra to be in the next three years comes to past. This is possible, and I encourage Anambra people to pay their tax to encourage the government. You see that oil price is falling at the global market, so government has to depend heavily now on IGR to accomplish its programme. This will not be possible without the help of the people through their tax.
