April 11 poll: Be ready for a surprise, Enugu PDP tells APC

Director-General of  Peoples Democratic Party campaign organisation in Enugu State,
Chief C.O.C Egumgbe, has said the party was not deterred by the electoral defeat suffered at the national level during the presidential election.
According to him, the “PDP is prepared than ever to win the governorship election  on April 11, 2015.”
Egumgbe in a press statement yesterday, advised APC members in Enugu State to be ready to accept defeat on April 11, 2015 and exhibit similar sense of sportsmanship as exemplified by President Goodluck Jonathan, “when the PDP coasts to victory.
“No amount of blackmail, intimidation, deceit, smear campaign and negative propaganda against the PDP will deter it from winning the remaining elections in Enugu State under a transparent, peaceful, free and fair exercise.
“That the PDP suffered in the presidential election was an unfortunate accident that will not in any form affect the goodwill and popularity the party enjoys in Enugu State and that the incident has rather strengthened the party and made it stronger for the challenges ahead,’’ he stated.
He added that the party was also “strengthened by the fact that it has popular and acceptable candidates for the elections, especially its governorship candidate, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, who has distinguished himself creditably in public service as a technocrat and an experienced politician with a vast knowledge of the needs of the people.”
