Rising
from a town hall meeting ahead of the April 11 governorship election, a group
of 22
gubernatorial hopefuls, under the aegis of Coalition of Political
Parties,CPP, yesterday, unanimously adopted Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi,governorship candidate
of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Enugu State as the their candidate.
Leader
of the coalition, Mr. Afam Ani, said “the governorship candidates had to step
down, following the unprecedented acceptance of Ugwuanyi among the electorate.”
In his acceptance speech, Ugwuanyi assured the political parties that he would run an all inclusive government.

He
also noted that his administration would consolidate and continue with the
polices and programmes of Governor Sullivan Chime’s administration in Enugu
State.
The
PDP candidate revealed that his administration would ensure that
ultra-morden hospitals were built in the three senatorial zones of the
state to serve as a reference point and mitigate medical tourism in the South
East geo-policital zone.
Meanwhile,
the umbrella body of Igbo socio-cultural group,Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Enugu State
chapter, has endorsed the PDP candidate, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, as its preferred
candidate for the poll.
