25th inaugural lecture : Prof Emeka Ezeonu speaks on Poisons beyond our control

tomorrow, Thursday 30^th April, 2015 at the University Auditorium showcase yet another scholar Prof Francis Chukwuemeka Ezeonu , a Professor of Environmental Biochemistry and Toxicology at its 25^th inaugural lecture.

The Vice Chancellor, Prof Joseph .E Ahaneku , will chair the ceremony scheduled for 10 am  with the topic ‘’poisons in the Nigerian Environment: within our reach , beyond our control’’.  This was contained in a statement by the Chairman of the Inaugural lecture committee, Prof Amechi Oyeka as signed by the Registrar , C.C Okeke.

Prof Ezeonu , currently the Director of Research, Innovation and Development Nnamdi Azikiwe University , Awka  is the first Alumnus PhD graduate in Nnamdi Azikiwe University; First graduate to be appointed into the rank of Professorship and first graduate of the university to do his inaugural lecture as well as the first to do inaugural in the department of Biochemistry.

Prof Ezeonu has been Prof in the last 13 years and on the 30^th of April, 2015 , the voice of the oracle would be heard as inaugural lecture is a platform for a new Professor to tell his story, make postulations to enable him become a Prof with a chair.

Prof Ezeonu sees the event differently as he captures it thus: ‘’ It is a University culture and tradition. it is like ordaining a priest of God . That is what I am about doing is to announce myself that I am now a Professor , to share my story and knowledge that led to making me a Professor. At the end there would be no questions in line with the University tradition of inaugural lectures and by the grace of God I will be inaugurated into a chair.
