President Goodluck Jonathan of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) met behind
closed doors with the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (retd.) and signed another peace deal after attacks were witnessed during campaigns.
The two leading candidates for tomorrow’s election signed the new accord under the supervision of Abdusalami Abubakar shortly after emerging from a closed door meeting.
The meeting brokered by the National Peace Committee for the 2015 General Elections, led by Gen. Abdusalami Abdusalami (retd.), is meant to extract commitment from the leading candidates that the forthcoming elections will be violence-free.
The two candidates may sign another peace accord at the end of the meeting.
They were accompanied to the meeting by the national chairmen of their parties.
