Violence erupted
in Ikirun, in Ifelodun Local Government Area of Osun State early
Saturday

about 12 persons were injured.
The violence was
not limited to Ikirun, as a personal assistant to a State of Assembly lawmaker was
reportedly shot dead at Olomu community in Ife South Local Government Area.
Our correspondent
gathered that the Ikirun incident took place at about 4:50am before many
residents woke up to start the preparations for the day.
The victim of
Ikirun killing, Yomi Ademola, a 27-year-old man, was said to be a member of the
All Progressives Congress before he defected to the Peoples Democratic Party
recently.
Ademola was said
to have been shot twice in the premises of a primary school.
It was not clear
who was behind the killing in Ikirun, but the PDP Secretary in Osun State, Mr.
Bola Ajao, who is an indigene of Ikirun, accused the APC of perpetrating the
crime.
However, the
Director of Publicity of the APC in the state, Mr. Kunle Oyatomi, denied the
allegation when contacted by our correspondent.
He accused the PDP
of being the violent party and asked it to look inward to find those
responsible for the incident.

the APC in Osun East Senatorial District, Senator Jide Omoworare, told
journalists that one person was feared killed in Olomu community in Ife South.

South, we got a report that political thugs stormed Olomu and burnt some houses
and damaged some property, but normalcy has been restored.
“I leant that
somebody was killed, but I have not been able to confirm that. I heard that the
person was shot at, but I will still have to confirm if the person actually
died.
“Two vehicles were
burnt and a house that belonged to Yinusa, a former member of House of Assembly
representing Ife South,” Omoworare said.
