Strange as Ebonyi women, youths drum support for Buhari, Osinbajo

Against the believe that states in South-East are rooting for President Goodluck Jonathan ,thousands of women and youths in Ebonyi State on Wednesday staged a rally in support of the
All Progressive Congress presidential flag bearer, General Muhammadu Buhari and his running mate, Prof. Yemi Osibanjo.
The rallies took place simultaneously in Afikpo Local Government Area and Abakaliki, the state capital.
The women and youths marched through major streets in the two cities chanting songs in support of the APC candidates.
The leader of the group that marched in Afikpo LGA, Eluu Vincent, said they were in support of Buhari because of his stance on corruption.
Eluu said corruption was the biggest challenge the country was encountering, and stated that it worsened during the President Goodluck Jonathan administration.
He said, “Nigerians are tired of it and want change. The kind of change we want, only Buhari can guarantee us. He was a former governor, former minister and former president. In all these positions, he left with an enviable and unblemished record.
“His unblemished record of service becomes more surprising and unprecedented, especially when one takes into cognizance the fact that he held these positions during the military era when he could have logged the treasury and got away with it. But he didn’t.”
Eluu said that the reverse was now the case with the Peoples Democratic Party government. “Massive corruption with impunity is now the order of the day and we need someone to lead us out of this quagmire.
“He has garnered years of experience in these positions which he will deploy to solve the socio-economic problems bedeviling the country, which many years of PDP misrule has worsened.”
He added that the people of the council have been mobilised to vote for APC in the elections.
