Obiano says Anambra state is growing by 14 percent in GDP

Governor Willie Obiano has announced a growth in the states GDP by 14 percent.

Obiano noted that the GDP would soon grow higher with the influx of investments and revolution in various sectors.
The Governor explained that proactive measures had been put in place to boost power supply in the state and provide adequate electricity to drive the industrial hubs.

The Governor was speaking at a dinner to mark the one year anniversary of his administration at the Governor’s Lodge, Amawbia.

He said the present effort to provide mass employment for youths was geared towards a structured elimination of crime and criminality.

Governor Obiano recalled that despite various distractions, his government remained focused on the task of moving the state forward and commended members of the state Executive Council and the state workforce for their contributions.
Meanwhile, traders and passers-by along Nnamdi Azikiwe Avenue Awka, yesterday took time out to celebrate Governor Willie Obiano and his wife, Chief (Mrs.) Ebelechuckwu Obiano.
The Governor and his wife, on their way from Ekwueme Square, venue of the anniversary celebration, stepped out of their vehicles and strolled down the road, while jubilant crowds cheered as they interacted with them at various points while the Governor’s wife bought some of the wares.
However, when she met a young boy hawking plantain, after buying some of the product, the Governor’s wife gave a directive to the boy’s parents to send him to school to acquire education and desist from engaging him in hawking.
