NO fewer than 50 pilgrims from Anambra contingent had under went leadership-skill acquisition training in Jerusalem
No fewer than
50 pilgrims out of 187 pilgrims from Anambra State that went for Easter
pilgrimage had been trained on Leadership and Skill Acquisition Scheme of
Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission (NCPC) reports www.odogwublog.com.
Dr Levi Muonanu ,
State Chairman of the Christian Pilgrim Welfare Board said on Monday in
Jerusalem that the scheme was proposed by the state board to NCPC hence
the decision to make Anambra the pilot state.
He said that the
scheme was a new innovation in the commission with the sole aim of empowering
the Christian youth who had remained untouched with view of economically
boosting them.
According to him, the
scheme would make the pilgrimage richer as it would not be only spiritual
rebirth but economically developed as well to chart a new course of direction
and development for the people of Nigeria.
Muonaun advised the
selected people to make optimal use of the training as they would be used to
train others in the state as plans has been made to empower them as soon as
possible .
Prof Vincent Anigbogu
, the resource person for the training said that Anambra had more than enough
potentials and resources to be self reliance and thought the group on acquiring
the basic principles of leadership which include Self Confidence, High
Value, youth empowerment, managerial skills development and provision of
further plans among others
He said that if these
basic principles are highly developed among the youth that in no distances
time that the state would be out of much dependency on the white
collar jobs, importation and reliance on white men.
Anigbogu said that
revitalizing agricultural state in the state and country in general would
abridge the poverty and unemployment level the by creating a less
dependent principle among the youths .
He said that the
group was taken trained for two day and after examination that certificate was
awarded to them which is hoped that they would impart on the others back
home for better results.
Engr John Anati bus
leader of the team said the training was worthwhile and thanked the
commission for the innovation and opportunity afforded as pilot state to
benefit from the scheme
He said that the
training was very intensive and enriching as easy ways of embarking on farming
seedlings that would yield results in a short notice was discovered and
leadership skills taught was clear as confidence was just the bedrock of
growth.
He assured that he
would take the lessons from the training to members of community as farming is
the major occupation of his people
Mr Obiora Anyakoroa a
participant said that the training was well clear and assured that he impart
the skills learnt to the people of his area as a community leader.
Fr Collins Okoye a
participant said he was happy to be part of the training and described the
whole exercise as fulfilling both in spirituality and physically which is the
training the commission initiated.
He said that he
had enough lesson he was taking home for his parishioners both the youths and
the aged and plea that the empowering of the participant should be fasten so as
to put in particle of all that was learnt.
Mrs Maryrose
Ejiofor said that she was highly touched both spiritual and otherwise
that the training added to her joy of being among the Easter pilgrimage and
assured that lessons learnt would be transferred among families members and
friends
