OBIANO ON THE HISTORIC ONE YEAR IN OFFICE AS THE EXECUTIVE GOVERNOR OF ANAMBRA
Chief
(Dr) Willie Obiano,
Executive Governor
Anambra State
Executive Governor
Anambra State
Goodday
Your Excellency.
WHO EVER
THOUGHT THAT THESE WILL BE POSSIBLE? CONGRATS
Your
Excellency Sir, kindly permit me to join your numerous well meaning friends,
well wishers, associates and ndiAnambra in offering prayers of Gratitude and
Thanksgiving to God for His gift of You to us, ndiAnambra and the State. I am
very pleased and proud to associate myself with you and the monumental
achievements recorded within one year of your administration as the Executive
Governor of Anambra State.
Congratulations to you, the authentic true Igbo leader of our generation.
Under your watch as the Chief Executive and Security officer of the State, the State has witnessed revolution in the real sense of the word. What ndiAnambra never thought would ever be possible started happening – Three flyover bridges simultaneously started in Awka city and almost completed with state of the art and earth-moving machines. Who ever thought that this will be possible?

Onitsha
city has been appropriately glorified, environmentally and socially cleaned;
ultimately placing it in the world map as the first port of city/call for any
choice of investment in West Africa. The CCTV strategically mounted could only
be conceived and carried out by one who is truly cosmopolitan and passionate
about competing in line with the internationally acceptable standards. Who ever
thought that this will be possible?
The
frontiers of Education are being expanded. Your commitment to Classroom
infrastructures, Students’ and Teachers’ welfare is uncommon, unequaled and
second to none. In less than 365days, Teachers’ salaries were increased by 15%;
3000 teachers recruited, Nigerian Union of Teachers (NUT) office jointly
completed, all physically challenged and technical college students offered
full scholarship, 1500 classroom blocks for primary schools constructed, 862
classroom blocks renovated, N733 million disbursed to mission schools, laptops
distributed to private schools, White Boards distributed to public schools,
Staff and Education officers of Ministry of Education trained on ICT, Quality
assurance introduced and strengthened in the Ministry, Sharp practices,
Illegalities and illegal schools in the system stamped out, 11 technical
schools revamped and strengthened, Sick bay and School sports equipments
distributed to Public and Private Schools, students’ sports and academic
competition encouraged and sponsored. Honestly, your singular landmark feats in
Ministry of Education within your first 365days in office cannot be justifiably
exhausted in 20pages. Who ever thought that these will be possible?
Your immense
investment in the security of lives and properties are unprecedented. Your
infrastructural development and investment drive is fundamentally radical and
ambitious. Your clinical approach to solving the epileptic Power supply with
the ongoing strategic construction of Power gas plants that will assist in
generation, distribution and transmission of Electricity to ndiAnambra can
better be described as pragmatic. The expansion and construction of
inter-community road network is a reality experienced. The huge investment,
partnerships, outputs and potential economic reap in the Agricultural sector
has eloquently shown that the sector has never had it so good until your coming
as the Executive Governor. With the creation of over 5000 direct and 12, 000
indirect jobs in less than one year, you have demonstrated that reducing
unemployment to its lowest single digit is possible and doable. Who ever
thought that these will be possible?
Your
approach to business of Governance is exemplary. You have ultimately and holistically
injected positive changes in the four economic pillars and twelve enablers of
which your administration is founded on; showing leadership that is anchored on
good governance, values, transparency, prudence and fair play. The recent
befitting burial of our beloved brothers and sisters whom we lost in the
regrettable Nigeria-Biafra civil war was quite touchy and could be undertaken
by a child thoroughly brought up by a socially-stable, virtuous and
compassionate family. It speaks volume of you as a fellow who is passionate
about transforming and seeing a united Igbo race. Indeed, I am so very proud of
you.
I do not
only lend my voice to those of our brothers and sisters who witnessed your
goodness and exclaimed ‘Willie is working!’ but given that you have
consistently shown that the goodness is naturally in you and are willingly and
freely offered to the Glory of God and for the salvation of ndiAnambra and
Ndigbo, I wish to most charitably concoct this appropriate and befitting
exclamation: ‘Willie is willing willingly working well’.
In fact,
you have restored the dignity and pride of ndiAnambra. Be assured of my
unalloyed loyalty, support and prayers. Keep the Flag high and flying.
Remain blessed the People’s Governor.
Remain blessed the People’s Governor.
Sincerely and proudly onyeAnambra,
