The
All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for Anambra Central Senatorial zone,
Senator Chris Ngige, has donated a Nissan Ambulance and two wheel chairs to St.
Faith Hospital owned by Anglican Communion in Awka, the state capital.
The
Senator, who is a Knight of the Catholic Church, made the donation during his
campaign tour of the senatorial district.
He
said the donation was part of his contributions towards providing equipment for
the operations of the hospital.
Senator
Ngige had earlier paid courtesy call on the Anglican Bishop of Awka, The Right
Reverend Alexander Ibezim at his Emmaus House residence, Awka.
After
a brief meeting, the Anglican Bishop, along with members of the building
committee, conducted the Senator round the premises of a multi-million naira
specialist hospital under construction and St. Faith Hospital, Awka.
Bishop
Ibezim told the Senator that the church decided to establish a specialist
hospital with state-of-the-art facilities and equipment to discourage people
from wasting their money seeking for better medical treatment outside the
country.
He
said the completion and full operation of the hospital would expand God’s
kingdom, even as he solicited financial and material contributions from wealthy
individuals and corporate organisations to actualise the gigantic project.
In
his response, Senator Ngige commended Bishop Ibezim for conceiving such a noble
venture and promised to render substantial assistance through Chris Ngige
Foundation and his constituency projects distribution.
Earlier,
the Medical Director of St. Faith Hospital, Dr. Emmanuel Ekwunife,
praised Senator Ngige for his accomplishments in the Senate.
and
acknowledged his several constituency projects especially scholarship awards which
have touched the lives of many indigent parents.
He
said: “Obvious, touching lives is what leadership is all about, your qualities,
achievements, and contributions are too numerous to recount”
