Senator
representing Anambra Central Senatorial District in the National Assembly, Dr.
Chris Ngige, has said the All Progressives Congress (APC) is not against
implementation of the 2014 national conference recommendations.
He
recalled that the APC governors nominated three candidates each to the national
dialogue.
Ngige
said those who accused APC of not recognising the national conference were
simply being mischievous, stressing that an APC Federal Government would
fine-tune modalities for the implementation of the recommendations of the
national conference in addition to creating one additional state in the
South-East for equity, justice and fair play. The senator made the observation
when he undertook campaign tour of wards in Awka metropolis.
He
commended the people for their massive votes for him in 2011 senatorial
election and commissioned 500kva transformers, which he installed in the wards
as part of his constituency projects.
In
their individual remarks, member representing Awka South and Awka North Federal
Constituency in the House of Representatives, Chief Chukwuemeka Nwogbo and
Emeka Chukwuemeka, re-contesting for the state House of Assembly, enumerated
their democracy dividends to the wards and appealed for re-election to their
respective legislative houses.
Speaking
on behalf of the wards, Chief Chinweze Nwobu, commended Ngige for the
scholarship awards and sundry benefits to the people and recalled that his
dogged determination saved Anambra State from the predatory godfathers.
He
stated that time had come when people should vote for personalities and not
political parties.
