Madubueze, who is contesting on the platform of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), made the pledge in an interview at Aguleri in Anambra.
“After the flood disaster that hit the area two years ago, money meant for rehabilitation did not get to them; worse still is that flood remains the major problems of the people who are largely farmers.
“The problem is that the ecology funds Federal Government allocates to the area eventually end up in the pockets of few people, so I decided to contest to ensure that all the ecology funds are used for their purpose,” he said
Madubueze also said that among the things he will pursue will be the completion of the Umueze Anam-Nzam-Inoma-Kogi-Abuja road which has since stopped half way.
The road, according to him, will boost the economic activities of the people as they will easily evacuate their crops to the markets and get people to Abuja from Anambra in three hours.
Madubueze also said he will strive to provide employment opportunities and quality education for the youths as well as improve the fortunes of the people with regards to oil activities in the area.
“The first thing is to make sure that peace reigns in this area. I belong to the school of thought in the legal field that said that matters settled in courts are not well settled.
“You settle matters at a round table and that is mediation and reconciliation, it is part of my field in law, so to maintain peace, I would get the Kogi people to know that this oil belong to Anambra and they can benefit for being our neighbors.
“Secondly, I will move towards ensuring that the Federal Government starts giving us derivation as oil producing state,” he said
