Obiano sacks Agric Committee for poor performance

Governor Willie Obiano has allegedly disbanded the Anambra state Agricultural committee led by Prof Emeka Omaliko for performing below expectation, reports www.odogwublog.com .

 The Governor inaugurated them to form a blue print for Agriculture for the state but they got entangled along the line after the committee transformed into implementation committee . 

The committee appears to have lost focus  of its inauguration for massive employment and food security but were scheming allegedly on who controls the finances involved without anything for the state.

Nigerian Pilot newspaper leant N250 Million allowances so far for the committee distracted them from the main business of the committee and that was not a good news for the state hence Governor Obiano sacked them to the applause of some key stakeholders.

When contacted , Prof Omaliko said he would return from Abuja to discuss the matter with this correspondent as he is yet to be briefed but did not keep to his promise and efforts to get the contact of the SSA Agric Mike Ogbuekwe from Enugu state was not possible.

 And by 5:40 pm, efforts to get across to Commissioner for Agriculture did not yield result as his phone was in plane mood.
