The
National Coordinator of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Ward to Ward
Initiative for Jonathan and Sambo 2015, Mr Kamal Karka, said yesterday that the
group will mobilise 40 million votes for the re-election of President Goodluck
Jonathan.
Karka,
who stated this during the North-East Presidential Monitoring Team tour in
Yola, Adamawa State, maintained that the group’s mission is to take the
campaign to the ward level which he described as the critical electoral unit.
According
to him, membership was drawn from all the states, adding that its
membership was up to four million.
He
stated that each member must influence 10 votes for Jonathan. He also said the
tour will sensitise people of the grassroots over the achievements of Mr
President which would boost his re-election.
“This
group is out to reach out to the grassroots especially the wards and to
enlighten voters on the achievements of Mr President and why he stands the
better candidate to be re-elected.
“Our
conviction was based on the fact that Jonathan is the only Nigerian leader who
advocates for youths and women empowerment. It is in this quest to empower
youth that we are using our resources to canvass support for Jonathan come
2015. This meeting today will convey your messages back to Mr President and he
will address your problems when he is returned,” he said.
