Barely a week to the general elections, there is great indication that the All
Progressives Grand Alliane(APGA) may withdraw its support for President
Goodluck Jonathan in the February14 poll.
According to the source, the president is surreptitious working against APGA's
interest in Anambra state in the election via his surrogates. The source said " it's expected that since we have adopted Jonathan as our presidential candidate in the general elections , he would have allowed our national chairman, sir Victor Umeh, an automatic support to the senate, but what we are seeing is undercurrent pull down on our national chairman by agents of the president.
The source maintained that in Anambra central district, where Umeh is contesting for the senatorial seat, the PDP is "unlawfully fielding four candidates against APGA ,despite the fact that the National Independent Electoral Commission(INEC) had published only one name(Annie Okonkwo)for the position.
The source maintained that if the president fails to call his party to order about this,APGA would be left with no other option than to withdraw its support for Jonathan accordingly, describing the distraction against APGA by the PDP as grand conspiracy and mistrust.
"We have no fewer than four million voters as loyalists and sympathisers , we may have to pull out these supporters/voters and rechannel them appropriately for the purposes of the February14 election. We can no longer tolerate this deceit.
