Breaking News: PDP Re-strategizes against Ngige as Minister for Aviation charges Traditional rulers on free and fair election
Minister for Aviation, Chief Osita
Chidioka yesterday led other Peoples Democratic Party Chieftains including
Chief Olisah Metu, the National Publicity Secretary of PDP in a strategic
meeting with Goodluck/Sambo support groups to ensure nothing funny happens
during the Presidential election.
They mobilized for house to house
campaign for people in the state to collect their PVC’s before the deadline to
enable them vote and vote wisely even as they urged the electorate to vote for
President Jonathan.
They addressed traditional rulers in
Anambra Central senatorial zone appealing to them to ensure peaceful election
in the zone.
Chidioka who addressed them at the
palace of the traditional ruler of Obosi Igwe Iweka, said Anambra is not known
for violence during elections and they should do everything possible to ensure
the peace is sustained and elections done peacefully.
The Aviation minister assisted their
involvement in appealing and encouraging their subjects to collect their
permanent voters cards since it would not be at the interest of Ndigbo and
Anambra people not to return President
Goodluck Jonathan back.
Responding on behalf of other
traditional rulers, the traditional ruler of Abacha, Idemmili North local
government area, Igwe Godwin Mbakwe assured that they will ensure a peaceful election devoid of war and crisis is conducted
by constant talking to their subject on the need to shun violence.

Chidioka for the forum and urged him to make it more regular even as he
insisted that since INEC uses the assistance of the traditional rulers in the
North to distribute the PVC’s , there is nothing wrong for the services of the Monarchs in South-East not to be used in
the same direction.
The PDP Publicity secretary , Chief
Oliseh Metuh assured that President Goodluck Jonathan would win the 2015
General elction anytime it is conducted hence they are doing everything possible
to ensure the Permanent voters cards are collected and people actually use them
to re-elect Mr President.
Meanwhile , the Senatorial candidate of the
All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) , Chief
Victor Umeh said the shift was not expected, lamented the financial burden
the shift in the election date would have on it candidates but said his party
welcomes the development as it would help allow INEC time to distribute
Permanent Voters Card as well as resolve security challenges in the North East
zone of Nigeria.
