Senator Annie Okonkwo is in trouble as Senator Chris Ngige takes the shine off his feat in Prince Arthur Eze's political terrain.
It was excitement galore at Ukpo,
Ukwulu and Nawgu all in Dunukofia Llocal Government as the All Progressives
Congress (APC) Senatorial candidate for Anambra Central Senatorial
District concluded his campaign tour of the area, with kinsmen of the
billionaire oil magnet, Prince Arthur Eze, throwing their weight behind
the Senator’s ambition to return to the National Assembly.
This development came as Senator
Ngige stormed the communities of Ukpo, Ukwulu and Dunukofia in the area in the
course of his campaign to commission the Constituency Projects he
attracted to his constituents which included transformers, motorized borehole
for water as well as scholarship scheme.
Senator (Dr.) Ngige paid a
courtesy call on the traditional ruler of Ukpo, Igwe Robert Eze, a
relation to Prince Arthur Eze for his blessing and informed him he was in the
area to conclude his campaign tour and commission some constituency projects
including the completely installed and energized transformers at Ukpo.
At each function, Senator Ngige used
the opportunity to present the APC’s House of Representatives candidate for
Anaocha, Njikoka and Dunukofia federal constituency, Cyprain Udenwa and the
House of Assembly candidate for Dunukofia, Nnamdi Chukwudebelu.
Before he began his campaign
activities to the various communities, Senator Ngige commissioned the 500

platform to achieve the change of government of the Peoples Democratic Party,
which he said has failed the people after sixteen years of domination of
leadership.
He stated that his desire to go back
to the Senate was anchored on his belief that hose issues he could not push as
a first timer would be easily be done since he would be returning as a ranking
Senator and be privileged to occupy, the position of the Senate President,
Deputy Senate President or Majority Leader, if APC was declared as the winner.
The Senator assured of pro-poor and
quality representation stressing that he would double the scholarship scheme
for the current year, having realized that after awarding 3,620 scholarships
awarded as part of his empowerment programmes, he found out that many students
in his constituency still needed it.
He urged the people to shun All
Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) which he said was only in existence in
Anambra State and could not spread to other places to be able to bargain for
power int he country, attributing the exit of former governor Peter Obi from
APGA to PDP, after he had allegedly vowed with his name and family not to
betray the party.
The Senator said he would tell
Arthur Eze to sea reason and support the APC as according to him, Igbos need to
have alternative national political platform like APC to seek for betterment.
He urged the people not to be
deceived that President Goodluck Jonathan’s name Ebele has anything to do with
the Igbo, noting that his full name is Ebelemi meaning big fisherman
includes Ebele adding that stated that Jonathan’s name, Ebelemi, not Ebele.
He clarified that the APC
Presidential candidate, Muhammadu Buhari was given the name Okechukwu by
the traditional ruler n Abia, Eze Ikonne, because of pervading fresh interest
and love cordial relationship in existence existing.
Also speaking the Dunukofia Local
Government Chairman of APC, Mr. Jidelofor assured total support of the people,
stressing that Ngige was the only Senator out of the bunch of Senators
Mike Ajegbo, Ikechukwu Abana, Ben Ndi Annie Okonkwo to have come to render
account of stewardship to the people and prove that lawmakers also
attract democracy dividends.
