Anambra Senior Civil Servants Chairman , Comrade Ifeanyi Okechukwu calls on workers to go for their PVC’s



The Association of Senior Civil Servants of Nigeria, Anambra State baranch yesterday appealed to electorate in Anambra especially civil servants to get their Permanent Voters Card (PVCs) to enable them vote in the government of their choice during the re-scheduled election reports www.odogwublog.com.

The Chairman of the Association, Comrade Ifeanyi Okechukwu who made the appeal, insisted that unless civil servants have their permanent voter’s cards, they should not be complaining when elections are over.
He applauded the responsiveness of the Anambra state Governor, Chief Willie Obiano and the health workers of the Ministry of Health led by Dr Okafor with the orders of Commissioner, Dr Josephat Akabuike.
The Senior Civil Servants said by the time the news got to the Governor 8 persons have died and 25 others hospitalized and with the intervention the cholera outbreak was controlled.
This was contained in a communiqué by the Association after its maiden meeting in respect of the state of the Nation in Awka as signed by the state Chairman, Comrade Ifeanyi Okechukwu.
As well, the Association commended the humane disposition of the state government in adjusting salaries of state civil service to be at par with the local government workers by beefing it upward to 15%.
The communiqué read in part: ‘’The Association salutes the sense of justice displayed by the Governor by this act and sees in him a man that hates injustice by correcting the wrong.
“The Association was grateful to His Excellency for taking cognizance of workers’ sensitivity by putting on hold the deduction from workers of 5% from their salaries to pay for pension component and the 5% out of the 15% salary adjustment to be used for contribution by workers for their pension. The Association stated that the action of His Excellency spoke volumes of His Excellency’s personal concern for the workers’ plight and pray that God would reciprocate this good deed of His Excellency.
“The Association noted with satisfaction the unprecedented action of the Governor, Chief Willie Obiano in remembering our fallen heroes during the Biafra/Nigeria civil war in a well-covered programme titled “Ozoemena”. By this act the Governor has exhibited his humaneness as it has gone a long way in assuaging the trauma which the civil war has put on Ndi Igbo.
“They commended the increase in revenue by the Board of Internal Revenue which is a direct outcome of His Excellency’s resource fullness and urged all our workers in the Board of Internal Revenue and other who are in revenue generation outfits to work assiduously and align with His Excellency’s vision of putting our internally generated revenue to N2.5 billion monthly as to increase our workers salary in future. The Association urged our workers to close all leakages to realize the target.
“The Association noted with delight the safety and security being put in place by His Excellency and call on the International Community – local & foreign – to see Anambra state as a safe haven for investment destination.
“The Association salutes His Excellency for all his good intentions to the good people of Anambra state especially our workers and promise to partner with His Excellency’s government to move our state to the next level.
“The Association urged all our workers to go and collect their permanent voter’s card to support the party of their choice especially the one that has put smiles on the faces of our workers.
The chairman, comrade Ifeanyi Okechukwu further called on clergymen, Traditional Rulers, politicians and all Nigerians irrespective of their political interests to do fasting and prayers so that the forthcoming elections will be violence-free.
