A day of Joy as Francis Ekpone Walks Chinwe down Aisle amidst jubilation by Journalists

www.odogwublog.com reports that it was a journalist’s day. The Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ) Anambra state Council led by the Secretary, Princess Ifeoma Anumba , JP led the pack of journalists to the wedding ceremony of one of their own.

And it was all jubilation and happiness for the families of Mr Benjamin Okafor and Mr Mathew Ekpone all in Awka North Local Government Area of Anambra state as their children Francis Chukwuemeka Ekpone and Chinwe Maryann Okafor walked down the aisle.

 

Journalists , Vendors , newspaper Distributors , government officials and even readers of newspaper as well as Management  of Orient Daily Newspapers led by the Editor , Victor Agusiobo and some staff of various newspapers like , News Watch Magazine, National Light,  radio and television stations to mention but a few graced the occasion.

 www.odogwublog.com reports that Guests were served choice foods and drinks, as well as local stuff having gravitated from the solemnization of Holy matrimony at the St Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, Awka to the bride’s home at Isu-Aniocha for reception and merriment.

Hand-in-hand, the bride and her father, Mr Benjamin Okafor, walked into the church to meet the waiting groom. Both families including their friends and well wishers were there to witness and celebrate with them.

Chinwe was just as stunning as ever and the bride of the moment adorning a beautiful white-coloured empire-waist chiffon and silk gown adorned with a slow stopping crystal ornament with embellished straps.

Her hair was swept up in a half up do adorned with a tiara. Her bridesmaids were dressed in yellow/white flower dresses while the happy groom was handsome in his ash suit with a white shirt with a yellow formal neck scarf.

Both the church hall and reception venue were agog with friends and well wishers brimming with smiles and happy for the latest couple.  Many students and staff of Federal Polytechnic Oko attended the event as Chinwe’s father is a staff at Oko and Chinwe although did her Industrial Training at the Orient Daily Newspaper but has gone back to the Polytechnic to finish her HND. She is in finals now. Her mother works with the National Light.

In his sermon, Rev Fr Cyril Obiwelozo, urged the couple to be submissive to each other, as he reminded the bride to submit herself to her husband and the husband to love his wife.

At the end of the power packed ministration, the couple signed the marriage register after which they were presented with their marriage certificate shortly after the officiating priests declared them husband and wife. They danced out their heart with the congregation.


 Isuaniocha , hometown of the bride was the venue of the traditional marriage and reception t and the newly wedded couple did not disappoint both in attire and attitude to he admiration of all.

The bridal train ushered them into the arena with family, friends and well wishers welcome them with standing ovation and dances.

Chief Daniel Tabansi who chaired the occasion, thanked God for the success of the event and enjoined the couple to take to the words of God as preached in the church since according to him marriage, is for companionship and must be based on love and trust.

On her own part, the bride , Chinwe described the day as most joyful day in her life as she met her man through her mentor Odogwu Emeka Odogwu and never knew it would blossom to marriage. Odogwu is his boss so to speak……

 She said “honestly I feel so overwhelmed and great being his wife; I just pray to have him in my next world. He's a very nice caring man, in fact he's an Angel sent from above".

The groom also described the day as happiest day in his life," I feel like a king, I did not know God loves me like this, by giving me my missing 'rib', woman of my life, in short am  the most happiest man  today...she is very loving, caring and intelligent," he said.

But in an interview , Comrade Odogwu Emeka Odogwu , CEO/Chairman Board of Directors , Odogwu Media limited , said the chap and his girl were his children in the profession of journalism and his brother and sister in affiliation. He said both are good friends and confidants before they met and blossom their relationship under his watch. He prayed God to grant them good children , health and life to enjoy the union better than anticipated.
