2 killed over girlfriend dispute in Benue

Two persons yesterday lost their lives in a bloody fight involving two armed groups over a girlfriend at Adekaa in Gboko local government area of Benue state.

Although the state Police spokesman, DSP John Bako said details about the incident was still sketchy, the deceased names were simply given as Tersoo and Aisha.

He said the cause of the crisis which went to the level of physical combat started as a struggle between two men from either of the groups who laid claim to the late Aisha as their girlfriend.

Bako further stated that the cause of the death of Tersoo and Aisha was due to the application of dangerous weapons at the residence of Tersoo near Bristow College at Adekaa in Gboko.

However, witnesses said they suspected that the late Tersoo was murdered, following his involvement with a youth group who were trying to fish out the killers of the deceased pharmacist, Cletus Labe at his business premises in Gboko penultimate Wednesday.
