It was His Excellency Sir Peter Obi,
the immediate past Governor of Anambra State that asked the Anambrarians and
the world if “Anambra is cursed or are we the cause of what is happening to
Anambra State?” Such question carried so many issues bothering on the state of
anarchy and tyranny, home for all forms of wicked hearts; sacrilege and
acrimony was in their highest tone. Ears tingled on what was bemoaning Anambra
in the glaring eyes of Gen. Obasanjo as Civilian President.
To this end, such scenario is grooming
around the woman who deserves the support of all as per having her in the arena
of Politics. Hon. Uche Ekwunife has the honour to have the National flag and
ticket to run for Anambra Central Senatorial seat under PDP. The law had made
it clear that women must be given appreciable percentage to run for elective
post and no controversy about that.
Unfortunately as it stands, she was
sidelined just as Peter Obi had his then. The women folk and concerned male
folk who understand the value of women in the world of Politics today equally
understands with us that it is absolutely wrong to deny us our portion. This
made them to give us their support that Uche Ekwunife should be given her slot
to run with candid and unflinching support that they would support her.
Uche Ekwunife has demonstrated that
she knows what it means to represent her people at the Federal level. She helped
over 300 Anambrarians in her constituency to secure Federal jobs nationwide.
She attended to women and children matters. Men were not overlooked as many of
the Projects she did in her constituency was actually for all. Many motions and
bills were the children of her brain, the product of her endeavour and
materialization of her incentive genius.
In the world of human, it is live
and let live. Not moving selfish motion to constrain on from freedom of
expression of interest. But in the world of animal, it is survival of the
fittest. No consideration of given! How would it sound that Uche Ekwunife, the
Voice of women and children, is bewitched by anyone? Even the law states it
clearly that they have slots nonnegotiable. It is important to note that the
sluggish movement of a cat should not be mistaken by a rat as cowardice, but a
tactful movement of defence and attack.
Anyone who knows Hon. Uche Ekwunife
would agree with me that she is a woman with her own unique virtues. The gray
heron (a bird that lives around water) has a very singular mode of defence.
When attacked by the eagle or falcon, it simply stands quiet and firm. Using
its sharp pointed beak as a sword, it simply allows the predators to pierce
itself through by its own force. Her strength is in her ability to contain all
manner of dispositions against her and remains focused like a cheetah which
reserves its inner strength with precise focus in its pursuit to catch up a
prey. Her prey is her mandate! She is not after acrimony of dancing around the
graves!
It is in this light that I invite
all women, youths and men of noble mind to join hands in this campaign to move
Uche Ekwunife to Senate. It does matter whose name appeared for now, her
mandate is our focus. Her singular mode of defence in this jungle is not to exchange
words with anyone, or begins to dance around the grave of the dead people or
heroes and heroine in the State.
Hon. Uche Ekwunife we know respects
every human being including his male counterparts in the world of Politics but
to belittle her prowess and grandeur may not augur well with any who will jam
her peak by their own volition. Her quietness is her firm strength. She is
unfettered and her onslaught is acute to deliver mandate come General election.
