Stop Abusing Igbo traditions and culture, concerned Igbo citizens warn APC

 The Leadership of Concerned Igbo Citizens yesterday warned the South-East Zone of All Progressive Congress (APC) to stop disrespecting, abusing and discrediting our highly esteemed Igbo Citizens and tradition because of Nigeria Politics.

A statement made available to www.odogwublog.com in Awka and signed by Chief Okechukwu Nnogu as National Coordinator and Comrade Sunny Okparaeke as National Secretary condemned what it termed as abusing of Igbo traditions and culture by APC supporters in the south east.

The statement read in part,’’It is an abominable display for APC to erect, paste and hang Gen. Mohammed Buhari’s bill board campaign posters and Hand bills Picture in Igbo traditional attires. This is a gross abuse of our unique traditional display.

‘’ Buhari’s appearance in Igbo traditional attire is an insult to our ancestors, a direct political slap and belittling to Ndigbo.
Buhari’s posture in our traditional wear can never attract our people’s sympathy or likeness because even an unborn Igbo Child knows that Gen. Mohammed Buhari hates Ndigbo with pathological hatred. Buhari is a true core born again Muslim who can never contradict the Islamic faith/believe which is always against the Christian faith. He is a fundamentalist, who always uphold his Religious faith/believe above others. He has no regard or respect for Christian Religious faith or our Igbo traditional cultures.

‘’The general understanding and mind orientation in Igboland is that Gen. Buhari has sympathy for Boko Haram Sect. Ndigbo has lost more than one thousand of our people including properties worth Billions of naira in Gen. Buhari’s Hausa land without him condemning the sacrilegious killings of our Children, Wives, Husband and Kinsmen. He has never risen for once in our defense or sympathizes with our people.

‘’How can we vote for Buhari and APC who see nothing good in Igboland? During his Era as PTF Chairman, what did he do for Ndigbo? Ndigbo are wiser now because the known ghost is better than the unknown angel. When MASSOB re-introduced the use of Biafran Pounds as a legal tender among Ndigbo during Gen. Obasanjo’s administration, Gen. Buhari incited and pressurized Obasanjo to declare another genocide against MASSOB and Ndigbo. He even boasted that if he was the president then, he will flush out Biafra land and there will be no Biafra consciousness again.

‘’President Goodluck Jonathan is not too good to Ndigbo. He has never carried Igboland seriously in his administration but we can tolerate him because Ndigbo share the same religious believes with him, Igboland share boundaries with Ijwaland including closeness in tradition, culture and languages.
