Plot to impeach Amaju thickens

 

When members of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) board gather in Lagos on Thursday, they will be confronted with an orchestrated plan to impeach the President, Amaju Pinnick, Daily Sunsports has gathered.

According to a source, the plan is being hatched by a returnee member of the board from one of the South South states and we learnt that Amaju was already aware of the plot as he had been presented with the impeachment grounds.

However, the plot might have met a brickwall as the purported beneficiary of the impeachment, NFF first vice president, Seyi Akinwunmi was mustering support to defeat the opposition from having their way.

“There’s move to impeach Amaju when they meet in Lagos on Thursday. The move is being spearheaded by a member of the Aminu Maigari’s kitchen cabinet, who against all odds returned to the board at the last election in Warri.

“As I am talking with you, Amaju is aware of the move and had even confronted the man behind the move. But it’s doubtful if the impeachment move will sail through because the Akinwunmi’s group is opposed to it,” the source disclosed.
