Buhari harvests support from APC Canada Chapter

Canada chapter of All Progressive Congress (APC) has thrown its weight behind the candidature of General Muhammadu Buhari and his running mate, Prof. Yemi osibanjo in the forthcoming presidential election.

The Comrade Ellas Abone led Toronto, Canada chapter of the party in a statement called on Nigerian masses to rally their support and ensure that Buhari emerged victorious in the February 14 general election. He said “In solidarity with the teeming masses of Nigeria and our party the APC, we want to put on record the unflinching support of the APC Canada chapter for the flag bearers of the APC in the forth coming Nigerian Presidential election, General Muhammadu Buhari and his running mate, Prof. Yemi Osibanjo.” Abone maintained that the emergence of APC as a political force in Nigeria was to give direction to Nigeria’s political landscape as well as give hope to future generations. “ APC has emerged to re-shape the future of the country, its political landscape and the future generation and to act in the best interest of our nation. The true test of the Nigerian ideal is whether we are able to recognize our failings and then rise together to meet the challenges of our time.” He added that APC as a party believes in the doctrine of social contract between the leaders and the led, a doctrine that recognizes that the public office holder is a trustee of the people and power must be used in the interest of the people rather than the interest of the public office holder. Also speaking in similar manner, the secretary of the chapter, Mr. Yemi Adegbite expressed that at this point in Nigerian history, the nation needs people of impeccable and trustworthy characters, who can redeem Nigeria from a situation he described as “the bottomless pit” to which the ruling PDP had plunged Nigeria.insisting that the time for change is now, Adegbite added “we do not need another four more years of corruption, and directionless leadership of this present administration.” He promised that the Diaspora will do all that is humanly possible to ensure that the PDP and its “visionless and clueless” government is uprooted in Nigeria once and for all.In his contribution, the publicity secretary of the chapter, Mr.  Bolaji Dosunmu uses this opportunity to congratulate all members of the APC for their vision and mission of restoring the past glory of Nigeria and making the people of Nigeria proud again by their choice of General Muhammadu Buhari and his running mate, Prof. Yemi Osibanjo. In our deed and actions, Bolaji vowed that the chapter will continue to collaborate and do all the needful to ensure that our party come victorious in the February 14 election and take over the government from the party that has led Nigeria in the last sixteen years only to penury and squalor. The Deputy Chairman Board of Trustees, Engr.Godwin Airuoyuwa urged Nigerians to shun money politics, expressing that for the past sixteen years of the PDP led government things have only gotten worse; that PDP has gotten too far on this path of destruction that they are not capable of turning back. He believes that the time for change is now and urges all to rally behind Muhammadu Buhari to make this change possible; he is of the opinion that Buhari is a strong and courageous leader and one of the few Nigerian Leaders who still have the fear of God in their hearts. Engr Godwin is convinced that Buhari will help restore law and order for the safety of all Nigerians. He is therefore pleading with all Nigerians to elect Muhammadu Buhari as our next president. The Board of Trustees Chairman Mr. Bola Ajimotokan on behalf of the chapter, urges all Nigerians both in Diaspora and Nigeria to support the wind of change that is blowing all over the country at this moment and to rally behind General Mohammadu Buhari and Prof. Yemi Osibanjo for the change Nigerians are yearning for in order to salvage the nation.
