Buhari and Osinbajo Unveils wives at Ogun Rally

The spouses of the All Progressive Congress (APC) presidential candidate and his running mate have stormed Abeokuta, Ogun state capital for the party's presidential rally.

The APC presidential candidate Muhammadu Buhari's wife Hajiya Aisha and daughter Halima as well as Professor Yemi Osinbajo's wife Mrs ‎Oludolapo were in Abeokuta today for the rally.

This was the first time the family members of the opposition flag bearers made public appearances at the presidential ‎campaign since it started about two weeks ago.

Speaking at the rally, Buhari said “this impressive outing will be incomplete without bringing my wife publicly out,” adding that throughout his stint as military head of state “nobody knew my first (late) wife.

But circumstances have changed.”
He said his wife was in Ogun on the invitation of the wife of the state governor and his attachment to the city.
“Abeokuta was my first posting after I was commissioned into the Nigerian Army. I lived at the barracks here in Abeokuta,” he said.
Mrs Osinbajo is the granddaughter of the late sage Chief Obafemi Awolowo.
The APC delegation also paid a courtesy call to the Alake of Egbaland, Oba Michael Gbadebo.

Oba Alake thanked the delegation, saying Buhari is like a leader of Singapore that changed the fortune of his country for better with the help of its citizens; adding that the APC flag bearer is capable of tackling terrorism in the country.

‎Also speaking, vice presidential candidate Osinbajo said ‎historically, "all it takes is one man to change a country's fortunes. For Nigeria, it's Buhari that will effect that change."‎
