City of Anambn state, one would have thought the city had been run over
by some heavily armed warriors reports exclusively www.odogwublog.com associate.
The
city were yesterday thrown into bewilderment as news broke that a popular food
hawker in Eke-Awka market was using her late brother`s parts to prepare food
for her customers.
According to the residents of the area, the
skeleton of the victim was discovered by one of his brothers who returned
unexpected from outside the state and opened one of his sisters' rooms as he
met nobody in the house only to be greeted by a human skeleton.
He was said to have raised an alarm which
attracted neighbours who helped to force the accused to explain how she came
about keeping the human skeleton.
Sources disclosed that, the woman at that point
confessed that it was the skeleton of one of her brothers, a onetime footballer
who played for Rangers International Club in the 80's who later developed
mental sickness and was brought back home.
According to the story, it was gathered that the
woman confessed that she was using the deceased body parts to prepare the food
she sells to the public.
But when this reporter went to the residence of
the suspect to investigate the matter, she was told by her relations that the
story was not true.
They rather told the story of a onetime
footballer who played for Ranger International Football Club of Nigeria in the
80’s, Mr. Stephen Aloefuna, who unfortunate had a mental problem and was
brought back home.
According to them, on getting home, there was no
one to take care of him but only his eldest sister Ngozi who they said tried
all she could do for him to recover from his sickness but all her efforts
proved abortive. They said that Ngozi locked Stephen in the family building and
continued to take care of him until he died about two years ago.
Our sources further disclosed that the suspect
Ngozi Aloefuna from Amikwo village Awka, Awka South Local Government Area said
to have called one of their brothers and reported the death of their brother,
Stephen, but he shunned her and asked her to leave him without asking about the
deceased.
The corpse was said to have remained in the
compound, decomposed and became a skeleton without any one coming to know about
it or perceiving the odour of the decomposed body until one Mr. Ifeanyi
Aloefuna went to Ngozi and insisted on seeing the deceased. Ngozi opened the
door and all he saw was the skeleton of the deceased.
When asked what she used to prevent the corpse
from smelling, Ngozi said, "I did not pour anything on him"
Meanwhile a woman who claimed to be a relation
to the family said that "Stephen was already a skeleton before he died. He
had no flesh that was why neighbours did not perceive any odour".
Odogwu Media gathered that the
deceased skeleton was taken to the police station alongside Ngozi the suspect.
However, the State Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Uche Eze
when contacted confirmed the obnoxious incident and said that investigations
are ongoing.
