A
six-year-old child has been killed in a fire incident in Enugu, according to
the state police command.
Command
spokesman, Mr. Ebere Amaraizu, who confirmed the incident, said the fire, which
occurred at 9, Umueze Street, Awkunanaw, Enugu State, gutted two flats in a
two-storey building and also burned a six-year-old child, identified as
Sochimaobi Nwatu, to death.
“The
cause of the incident,” he said, “is yet to be ascertained as full scale
investigations have commenced.”
He also said the command was investigating the case of car snatching involving a passenger, who allegedly drugged a taxi driver he hired.

to him, “the Uwani Division has commenced investigations into the incident
where a passenger allegedly offered suspected drugged yoghurt to a hired taxi
cab driver.
“The yoghurt made him sleep off, thereby paving way for the suspected passenger to drive off with the car to an unknown destination.”
