2015 General election: Analysts hail vibrant opposition as good for democracy




A peoples Democratic Party stalwart, Sir George Ezenwa has said that the heat generated by 2015 general election campaign by political parties trying to outwit themselves in the ongoing campaign is a welcome development and a show of democratic practice in action, reports www.odogwublog.com .


According to Sir George who spoke to the press in Awka ahead of the elections, the struggle by the opposition party to gain more grounds and create more political relevance is unprecedented.

The political analyst of international repute stated that the political benefits of any strong opposition is that if any party wins the presidential election and wins more seats in the National Assembly elections by a slim margin against other opposition parties, it will seat up in its act of governance.

On the confusion created by the multiple presentation of candidates for elective positions by political parties especially in Anambra state, he said Nigerians demand to know which organization such as the INEC, the court or the political parties are responsible for bringing up candidates for elective positions.

Sir George expects the electorate to be wise in making their political choice on who their leaders will be during the forthcoming general elections.

In a related development, another political analyst, Mr. Cyril Anetoh a COREN inspector in Anambra State advised the electorate to shine their eyes in electing leaders who will represent them well.

According to Mr. Anetoh, the truth of good governance is being witnessed in Anambra State where the governor of the state Chief Willy Obiano is proving his mettle and justifying the electoral mandate given to him.
