The 1st Lady, Dame Patience Jonathan has summoned the wife of Anambra State governor, Mrs Ebelechukwu Obiano to Abuja to explain her role in conniving with her husband, Governor Willie Obiano and National Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Chief Victor Umeh to ‘doctor’ the list of delegates to vote for the aspirants in the State and National Assemblies primaries of the Party.

Mrs Obiano will travel to Abuja to see the First Lady who is said to have been irked by the unwholesome action of doctoring the list of delegates aimed at paving way for Mr. Ferdinand Dozie Nwankwo, the brother in-law of Presidency’s political adversary, and Rivers State governor, Chief Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi.

Amaechi who has declared an open fight to stop President Goodluck’s re-election bid and the First Lady’s ambition to nominate Amaechi’s successor in 2015 general elections, is tipped to serve as the Director-General of Buhari Campaign Organization, the camp that is likely to carry the flag of the All Progressives Congress (APC), the major opposition party to President Jonathan’s ruling party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Dame Jonathan had cancelled her visit to Anambra State last week and has threatened not to visit the State sine, according to insiders, governor Obiano, his wife and Umeh, have decided to disobey her instruction to drop Mr. Nwankwo, Amaechi’s in-law, who is running for the Anaocha, Njikoka and Dunukofia Federal Constituency against Chief Mike Nkwocha, and Onochie Okagbue and Gordian Eze on the platform of APGA.

The President’s wife is threatening to cancel her visit to Anambra State, which has been cancelled twice, over reports to manipulate the primary election in favour of Nwankwo.

Investigation by our correspondent indicates that the governor and former Senator Alphonsus Igbeke are fingered in the said manipulation of lists of aspirants from State Assembly to the National Assembly.

Remarkably, anger and protests trailed the Wednesday, December 3, House of Assembly primary held at the Barn Hill, Awka in which the Commissioner for Education, Prof. Kate Omenugha who conducted the exercise returned a pharmacist, Dr. Godwin Nnamdi Okafor as the winner of the primary.

According to his rivals, who pleaded anonymity for fear of being sacked from the party is threatened if they protest, the authentic list meant for the House of Assembly Primary was doctored, removing names of supposed delegates and a fresh one introduced in its place.

But Professor Ben Odo, Chairman of House of Assembly Primary Election Committee sent to monitor the exercise, denied any manipulation of lists.

Protesters from Orumba North stormed APGA Headquarters in the State over non-conduct of election in the State constituency, yet party is believed to have concluded arrangements to   select a preferred candidate.

In Aguata and Anaocha, hitches almost marred the exercise. Party Chairman in the State, Kwentoh could not address the press men on the contentious manipulations of the lists when he arrived party office.

But sources allegedly accused the governor, his wife, who is believed to be supervising the hatchet job, Umeh, Igbeke and one Reverend Manafa as being behind the façade which has witnessed doctoring of State and National Assemblies primaries, especially that of the Anambra South Senatorial District primary in which former House of Representatives member, Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu and former Deputy Governor, Dr. Okey Udeh are the major target.

Already, opponents of Mr. Nwankwo are threatening to withdraw from the race billed to hold today Thursday December 4 over the suspected manipulation of lists.

It was gathered that the National Chairman forwarded the preferred list to the State party chairman, Chief Mike Kwentoh and Chief Udokwu, his deputy, both of who met with the governor to allegedly further doctor the lists.

Sources alleged that the wife of the governor has called the bluff of the First Lady who, it was learnt questioned what temerity the First Lady has to direct her in what to do in APGA, saying after all they are already in Government House.

The outcry in Anaocha, Njikoka and Dunukofia Federal Constituency is overwhelming that there are threats of protest votes against APGA in the main election.

This is coming on the heels of protests by people of Rivers State who According to our source are threatening to storm the State to drag Amaechi’s in-law to Rivers State over an purported shoddy road contract in the State for which millions of naira were involved.
