Kano State governor, Rabiu Musa
Kwankwaso has said that his developmental ideology for the state would go
beyond 2015 since governance is about continuity.
Speaking yesterday at the opening
ceremony of the 6th retreat for political office holders, top government
functionaries and directors in the state, Kwankwaso said people of the state
would enjoy more goodies in years to come.
The governor who was represented by
his deputy, Alhaji Abdullahi Umar
Dandude said the Kwankwasiyya
ideology will outlive 2015.
He said that was the reason for the
retreat in order to draft a budget of consolidation and continuity that will
transcend the imaginary boundaries of May 2015 transition through to current
advocacy for a smooth succession.
“It is only by so doing, that the
dream for greatness could be upheld and sustained.
“We have just come out of the
political primaries with the hope of producing the next best caliber of leaders
that will hold unto the steering for the ship of governance. While I
congratulate all the successful aspirants, I call on those who are not that
lucky to join the team to transform Kano State to the commercial haven of West
Africa. “We trained over 2000 health technology graduates and pharmacists and
gave them N50,000 plus non-interest loan of N100,000 to operate pharmacies
under the ‘Lafiya Jari programme’.
“1700 youth trained in the use of
modern farm equipment and each mobilised with the sum of N140,000 each, built
two universities and 23 numbers of training institutions and the provision of
streets lights,” he said.
