Imo wages war on criminals

In an effort to further beef-up security and improve the well being of Imo citizens, the state government has launched Pilot Security Data Capturing to enable law enforcement agents’ track and flush out criminals in the state.

Specifically, the scheme is aimed at flushing out criminals who disguise as Keke (tricycle) operators in the state.

Addressing the Keke operators at the Heroes Square, Owerri, ,Governor Rochas Okorocha said the issue of security of lives and property was at the front burner of the Rescue Mission administration to ensure meaningful development.

The governor, who commended the group for the maximum cooperation he enjoyed since the inception of the present administration, pointed out that he justified their mandate through numerous transformation projects established in the state just within three and half years of Rescue Mission.

He assured the group that keke would be replaced with taxi in the state capital before it would be eradicate in the city.

Okorocha revealed that all the candidates of the All Progressives Congress, APC, were painstakingly chosen for effective representation of the people and called on the group to give the party (APC0 their full support for consolidation of the progress made so far in the state.

Earlier, the President, Imo Pilots Transport Multipurpose Cooperative Society Limited, Austine Ojukwu, explained that the Security Data Capturing of Keke in the state gave information about every Keke operator and had exposed some hoodlums who operate Keke as more than 30 stolen tricycles as well as forgotten luggage have been recovered. He encouraged passengers to verity every Keke number before they board.

Ojukwu commended governor Okorocha for his tremendous achievements in the State and assured him of the group’s total support for his 2nd term bid.
