The four Incumbent lawmakers of the Anambra state House of Assemblies under the All Progressives Congress (APC) were happy because they were returned to re-contest for a second term.
The members of the, APC including
the popular Nollywood actor, Mr. Tony Oneweek Muonagor, were today returned as
the party’s candidates in their various constituencies for the 2015 general
elections.
Other lawmakers are Ebele Obi,
(Idemili South constituency), Emeka Aniegbonam (Onitsha South) and Kenechukwu
Chukwuemeka (Awka South I).
Also, Mr. Ikechukwu Offor won the
ticket to contest in Aguata I state constituency in an exercise that was
supervised by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
The APC’s five-man committee for the
primaries was led by Mr. Gideon Zamani, while Akeem Okedara served as the
secretary.
The team expressed satisfaction with
the orderliness and maturity displayed by the APC contestants and supporters in
Anambra State, adding that the exercise showed that the party was on ground in
the state.
The incumbent lawmaker for Idemili
North and Nollywood star, Mr. Tony Oneweek Muonagor commended members of the
committee for exhibiting transparency, adding that everybody was happy that the
exercise went well without any hitch.
He said: “We have won the primaries,
but there are battles ahead. We are not relenting even as we know that APC is
being dreaded by other opposition parties in the state.”
