Edinburgh Theatre Sorry For Porn DVDs Blunder

A theatre has admitted a "horrifying" error meant porn DVDs were sent to parents and children - instead of a recording of school performances.

The Edinburgh Playhouse said "highly inappropriate" sexual content appeared on some of the DVDs after a third-party firm botched the duplication process.
The X-rated mistake was discovered within 48 hours of the films being sent out.

Around 100 of the DVDs have now been hastily recalled.
A spokesman said: "The Edinburgh Playhouse apologises unequivocally for any distress caused to the families affected by this totally unacceptable and unseemly mistake."

Edithouse, the company who produced the DVDs, said it took "full responsibility" for mistakes which led to "highly inappropriate and inaccurate material being sent out".

It added: "We would like to apologise sincerely to the Edinburgh Playhouse for the inconvenience and most importantly to the children and parents affected by this terrible error.
"We are sorry for any distress caused."
