The Bauchi State Police Command has account for its stewardship in policing the state in past one year by submitting a report to the Office of the Inspector General of the Police.
The report which copy was made available to Leadership in Bauchi by Haruna Mohammed, DSP, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), list some of the achievements of the command to include recovery of arms, ammunition, Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs), Vehicles, and recovery of rustled Cattle and sheep.
The report signed by the Bauchi State Police Commissioner, LAwal Shehu, shows that the police recovered 47 guns of different models ranging from AK 47 Rifles, SMG Rifles, Barreta Rifles, Fabricated Pistols, G-3 Rifles, K2 Rifles, Dane Guns, and Toy Guns.
The police commissioner in the report said: “Against the back drop of security situation in the Country and Bauchi State in particular, efforts to ensure that crime wave in the state is considerably reduced have been stepped up in 2014. The command intensified a 24hour round the clock patrol, Raids of identified black spots and flash points with a view to effectively check upsurge of crime in the State, and these have yielded some remarkable successes.”
Shehu listed arms recovered in the report as: “Three (3) AK 47 Rifles, One (1) SMG Rifle, Three (3) Barreta Rifles, Eleven (11) Fabricated Pistols, Four (4) G-3 Rifles, Three (3) K2 Rifles, Nineteen (19) Dane Guns, and, Three (3) Toy Guns.” These items he said, were recovered between January and December this year.”
