Rivers guber: APC picks Peterside as consensus candidate

The lawmaker representing Andoni/ Opobo/Nkoro Fed¬eral Constituency in the House of Representa¬tives, Dakuku Peterside, has emerged as the consensus governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2015 general elections.

Peterside was picked yesterday, as the party’s governorship flag bearer during a stakeholders’ meeting held at the Government House in Port Harcourt.
He was chosen as the sole candidate over the senator representing Rivers South East Senatorial district, Senator Magnus Abe.
According to a party stalwart, the choice of Peterside was be¬cause of his ability to mobilise the grassroots.
The meeting was held after stakeholders in the party re¬ceived former Head of State, General Muhammadu Buhari (retd) at the Government House in Port Harcourt.

One of the stakeholders de­scribed Peterside as a team player, expressing optimism that he would beat anybody that emerged as the governor­ship candidate of the PDP in the state.
